Scholarship Program    

2008 Scholarship Program
Purpose
 The National Flea Market Association scholarship fund was established in 2002 by the Board of Directors of the Association. The objective of the Association is to serve the public interest and benefit the flea market industry by fostering high standards of conduct, personally and professionally. This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are employees or children of employees of member markets.
Scholarship Availability/ Deadline:
  There are five scholarships available. These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of the membership of the National Flea Market Association. Applicants, or their parents, must have provided a minimum of one year of service to their respective market.
Amount of Award Minimum: $500
Application Postmark Deadline: 5/1/2008
Recipient Notification: 6/30/2008

The award will be made by August 20, 2008 and the scholarship will be announced at the annual convention.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
 
  1. Applicant must be an employee or child of an employee of a member flea market for a minimum of one year.
  2. Applicant must have maintained a minimum cumulative average of "B" throughout high school. (Verified by official high school transcript).
Application Process
 
  • Application form furnished by member markets and on NFMA website
  • Inclusion of high school transcript
  • Inclusion of essay , minimum of 250 words, maximum 500, detailing how the flea market has positively impacted the student's life
  • Descriptions of involvement in any extra curricular, community service or charitable activities
