  Legislative Representation:
Not enough can be said of the importance of working together toward a common goal. That goal is preserving the flea market and swap meet industry. NFMA currently has a federal lobbyist to look out for issues pertaining to our industry. Additionally, many members throughout the U.S. have state level lobbyists as well. Legislators will take notice when they hear from an association representing an industry with millions of constituents (our vendors and our shoppers). It is said that what happens in one state will surely pass on to the other states. That is why our legislative committee monitors this activity and encourages you to contact the NFMA office regarding any activity in your area.
  Leadership:
The future leaders of NFMA and the Flea Market Industry depends on the quality and dedication of our Board of Directors and Committees. Leaders are developed from the membership and contribute their time serving on committees and supporting the objectives and goals of the NFMA. If you are interested in serving on a committee, contact the Executive Director, John W. Schoen at 424-247-1152 or NFMA@fleamarkets.org.
  Management Training:
Join us annually for our 2 day convention which covers a large array of timely topics and issues relevant to our industry. The convention continues to grow in popularity with members and non members alike. It provides an excellent opportunity to network and share industry information.
  Public Relations:
Much like the "bad cop gives the whole department a bad reputation", a bad flea market hurts the overall industry. NFMA members abide by a Professional Code of Ethics and display a window decal of the NFMA logo. All aspects of the media contact the NFMA regularly for information about our flea market industry. Often times, an opportunity presents itself to refer them to local markets for their stories.
  Internet Website:
Our website, www.fleamarkets.org has had over 45,000 hits since June 2000. Each member can link their website free of charge. Each member is also listed on our site alphabetically and by state. For more information contact the NFMA Executive Director, John W. Schoen at 424-247-1152 or NFMA@fleamarkets.org. LINK YOUR SITE TODAY.
